Eight Treasures Qi Gong Classes

Qi Gong (or Chi Kung) is practiced by over 60 million people world-wide. Qi Gong means "energy building exercises." It is a practice of gentle, rhythmic, flowing exercises that coordinates body movement with breath and mental focus. Having been practiced in China for thousands of years Qi Gong is based on the same tenets used in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine. Specific movements access specific Acupuncture points and channels thereby strengthening the flow and function of their respective organs.

Eight Treasures Qi Gong is full set of 32 primary postures that cover all aspects of the body's motion. Classes are ongoing and can be started at any point regardless of one's exercise background. Learning part or the entirety of the Eight Treasures is a gift that will keep giving and increasing vitality for life.

Taoist Yoga Classes & Yoga DVD

Taoist Yoga is a centuries old art developed by Taoist Monks of Northern China. It is used to counteract the influences of the environment and to benefit health and longevity. It is composed of two categories of postures based on the philosophy of Yin and Yang. Yin postures use soft, relaxed, gentle stretches aimed at growing the body (muscles, tendons, blood vessels, ligaments, etc). Yang postures are active movements which increase stamina, strength and circulation.

Who benefits?
There is no age or physical limit with Taoist Yoga. All postures and movements are suitable for beginners and advanced students. Each person has a unique body; some will naturally be good at certain postures and limited at other postures. The relaxed pace of the class gives enough time to explore each posture and to grow steadily. Students find the class both relaxing and stimulating with a marked increase in flexibility and vitality after a few classes.

Schedule
Tues. & Sundays 6:30 - 8:00 P.M.
